This is more than a game; it's a commitment to competition and community. Our code is built on flexibility, but our premier feel comes from a shared respect for the game itself.

The Framework

  • Game Structure: Captains agree on the format before kickoff, whether it's a race to a target score or the disciplined strategy of timed halves.
  • Player Count: The BPL is designed for adaptability. While 4v4 is the premier format, rosters can be adjusted for intense 3v3 matches or expansive 5v5 contests.
  • Field of Play: Your pitch is your canvas. Use cones for boundaries, pop-up goals for a premier touch, and even include goalies if they're ready to play. The game adapts to the gear and players you have.

The Ethos

  • Officiating: The league is built on integrity. While most matches thrive on honor calls, volunteer referees are always welcome. In all cases, captains provide the final word.
  • Player Safety: Protect the competition. Skill and strategy are celebrated; reckless play is not. The BPL is a no-slide-tackle league to ensure a safe, high-level environment.
  • Sportsmanship: Compete with purpose, but value respect above all. The legacy of a great game lasts longer than any scoreline.
